Above and Beyond

Recognizing drivers that deliver more than expected

Red.png

We take pride in recognizing and celebrating our drivers' hard work, milestones, and achievements through meaningful recognition programs that showcase their outstanding contributions. With our Above and Beyond initiative, our goal is to highlight drivers that go, quite literally, above and beyond with what's expected in their position.

Previous winners

2025 is our first year of doing Above and Beyond. Check back soon to see more previous winners!

September 2025 / Paul Lowery

Andra and Lloyd assisted a driver who was experiencing a medical emergency. Both of them happened to be in the area and they made sure the driver, and their truck, were safe and taken care of.

July 2025 / Andra Brown + Lloyd Standors

Andra and Lloyd assisted a driver who was experiencing a medical emergency. Both of them happened to be in the area and they made sure the driver, and their truck, were safe and taken care of.

June 2025 / Bob Furches

As Bob is a driver in Tennessee, he has always been a great help with our Portland shop! On more than one occasion, he's been more than willing to assist with whatever is needed. Bob has been driving for us since 2007 and shows us every day just how dedicated of a driver he is.

May 2025 / Joseph Campbell

We, unfortunately, had one of our trailers stolen and it was impounded in Southfield, Michigan. Joseph was more than willing to sort everything out and go retrieve the trailer for us. Without his help, there would've been extra hoops for us to jump through!

April 2025 / Joe Radle

On March 19th, one of our trailers was incorrectly impounded by the police department because they believed it was stolen. They, unfortunately, would not release the trailer to us or Ashley Furniture until proper documentation was provided and impound fees were paid. With Joe's help, we were able to send him all of the necessary documents and an EFS check. He was then able to drive to the police station to show proof of ownership, paid the fees at the impound yard, gained possession of our trailer, and returned it to Romulus.

March 2025 / Hilton Landry

Recently, we had a truck, trailer, and load that was stolen and we were unable to make a police report in person. Hilton happened to be in the same area as the theft and he went out of his way to meet with police, file the report, and communicate with Trina in Risk Management. Because of his willingness to help out, we were able to successfully make an insurance claim and get things in motion to recover the stolen truck.

February 2025 / Terrence Tomberlin

On January 8th, we had a driver that lost their truck key and couldn't get in. Terrence was on his 34-hour reset, but he just so happened to be in the same area as well as have the exact same make, model, and year of truck. He caught a ride over to the other driver and unlocked their truck for them, saving the day. Just from taking time out of his own reset to help a fellow driver is commendable in itself!

January 2025 / Maurice Hall

Maurice was nominated for going beyond the scope of his duties regarding a damaged load. He worked with what the load was, cleaned it up, and got the necessary items to utilize. In addition, he's articulate and has consistently displayed excellent communication skills. Maurice is always willing to step up and go out of his way to help fellow drivers, not to mention he's been doing a fantastic job at recruiting for D.R.I.V.E.!
